Naturals: Eco-Friendly Brands in Malaysia

 What is a natural product?

In the previous post, we talked about Organic Cosmetics.

This time, we'll be reviewing the organics made from natural products!

A natural product may be defined as a product extracted from a plant, mineral, or animal by-product. The cosmetics brands will use this concept on their product packaging as a strategy since there is no regulatory body that has put out standards to classify a product as normal.

Have you ever wondered how skincare products that you use may have an effect on the environment? Anything from packaging, industrial processes and waste produced could do a huge amount of harm to the environment. Even if we do not concentrate on the chemical pollution in packaging that could end up in landfills or the misery of animals that often perish during product development, the ingredients in artificial makeup and skincare products are a big burden on the environment.

Luckily, natural products do not require such testing, because they do not need to harm animals for people’s own sake, nor do they need to concern about the toxins that are released into the air through the production and use of these products.

Nanoparticles, which can be found primarily in sunscreen products, are washed down by drains and harm marine life. There is also some research to show that excessive exposure to them can potentially catalyze skin cancer and premature aging-so literally do the very opposite of what they are supposed to do! Other common chemicals that come from non-natural products are including parabens, dioxins, and phenols. These ingredients claim to help consumers remain young and radiant-but they all have carcinogenic (cancer-causing) features and therefore pose a risk to their health, as well as endangering wildlife and aquatic species when set to release into their natural environments.

Good job in posting this article! One question: is there a difference between organic products and natural products?

    1. Organic products: refers to how an ingredient is farmed. For example, it must be prepared and grown without pesticides, chemical fertilizers, GMOs, parabens or antibiotics.
Natural products: can be defined as something that is derived from plant, mineral or animal by-product. Hope that clears your confusion!
